Hackland Aloe Garden is situated on a cane farm in Bishopstowe, Pietermaritzburg, overlooking Ashburton towards Table Mountain.
Hackland Aloe Garden was established in 2012 and consists of beautiful indigenous aloes, as well as some Hybrid Sunbird Aloe varieties.
There are also lots of interesting things to see in the garden. One being an old original Voortrekker wagon! This garden is set in the backdrop of sugar cane fields. providing food and shelter to the wide variety of sunbirds and its inhabitants. The wide range of Indigenous and Sunbird Aloes, create a calm and tranquil atmosphere. colour and life on every twist and turn of a footpath.
This is truly a paradise for artists and photographers who would like to capture the stunning plants and surroundings.
Our garden is open for the public, by appointment only.
Entrance fee is R30 per person, no charge for children under 12 years.
You are welcome to bring a picnic basket and spend a relaxing day in the garden with friends and family. We also have picnic baskets available on order, and braai facilities!
